Let's Talk about Literature : Definitions of Prose

Yuhuuu...
Assalamu'alaikum wr. wb, my beloved readers. After knowing the definitions of Literature, here I want to share you about one of the parts of Literature that is Prose. Let me tell you what actually Prose is. Check it out !!

1.     Prose is a literary expression not marked by rhyme or by metrical regularity. It is the type of language used in novels, short stories, articles, etc.

2.     Prose is a form of language that has no formal metrical structure. It applies a natural flow of speech, and ordinary grammatical structure rather than rhythmic structure, such as in the case of traditional poetry.

3.     Prose is ordinary writing (both fiction and nonfiction) as distinguished from verse.

4.     Prose refers simply to any written piece of work that is built on sentences (and paragraphs) rather than lines or verses (like poetry).

5.     Prose is the ordinary form of written or spoken language. It has no meter, pattern or rhyme to it.

6.     Prose is a communicative style that sounds natural and uses grammatical structure. Prose is the opposite of verse, or poetry, which employs a rhythmic structure that does not mimic ordinary speech.

7.     Prose is a term applied to any kind of discourse that is not poetry. This term usually, but not always, refers to written rather than spoken language. As the format of everyday communication, the term prose can apply to anything from a business letter to a 600-page novel.

8.   Prose is writing distinguished from poetry by its greater variety of rhythm and its closer resemblance to the patterns of everyday speech.

9.     Prose is the way you speak every day. If someone followed you around and reported on your actions and conversations, the result would be prose.

10.  Prose is the default way of communication in the Western World. It is the main genre for fictional and non-fictional writing in books, newspapers, flyers, reports, presentations etc.

We can conclude that prose is one of the parts in Literature which do not use the rhythmic structure like in poetry. It is usually used as a language of novel and story-like article.

That's all about the definitions of Prose. Hope it can help. Comment in the box below if you have critique or just leave some support for me hehehe. Well, thankyou for visiting my blog. See you at the next post !! Have a nice day !!!
